Alberto Reguera

Looks expansive

(Segovia, 1961), lives between Paris and Madrid. You could find the origin of his work in his admiration for the artists of the Lyrical Abstraction French. Also in its evocation by the painters landscapes with a romantic tradition. Or in the spectacular spaces of his native Castilla. Does abstract landscapes where some elements of nature are represented in a way fragmented, introducing them to his personal way of handling the color. In his work there is an intention poetic both in the use of pictorial material, as in the luminous textures to discover their layers.

Biography

Alberto Reguera (Segovia, 1961) is a Spanish artist based in Madrid, spain, that understands the journey – exterior, interior – as a way of life.Since more than three decades ago, is carrying out projects in the exhibition, which, based on the paint, investigating the relationship between space, matter painting, and the visual depth that conveys to the viewer.

Bachelor's degree in History Moderna, University of Valladolid – his native Castilla showed him his enormous open spaces, its seas of wheat – immediately jumped to Paris, to attend, among others, the seminar of contemporary art, l'art du XXème siècle " ( Ecole du Louvre). Also in his early he participated in the Current Art Workshops in the Fine Arts Circle of Madrid, with a masters of contemporary art, among others Lucio Muñoz. It also marked him meet another of the emblematic artists of the Spanish art, Rafael Canogar, who chose him to participate in a joint exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville, within the project "Relays" (2002).

The time that has been interspersed exhibitions and stays in Madrid and Paris, that extend to this day, he made his way in the united States, where he made three solo exhibitions in Washington, D. C, culminating in this city with your participation, as only English is selected for the "Exhibit E",in 2003.

When he began his career in asia, in 2007,it was increasing the volume of his paintings, that approached to support the sculpture. For this reason, it is symptomatic that the "Sculpture Square,Singapore to conduct your individual project "Beyond Form", which then would lead, in 2010, the City Hall of Hong Kong.In 2012, he entered the boundaries of the canvas, making two large paintings expansive, during his stay in Shanghai, for the institution CEIBS, in a building designed by Pei, being selected as "artist in residence".

This same year he exhibited one of his installations "pictorial" in the Place du Louvre, under the auspices of Unesco and the Mairie du 1er,within the framework of the Festival International de la Diversité Culturelle.Previously, I had participated in other shows building in the French capital, titled Assises, in the headquarters of the Ministére de la Culture et de la Communication.(2008).And more recently, in the Espace Eiffel 1 l Ecole Supèrieure du Commerce Extérieur in Paris (2013). His exhibition activity extends to other capitals in the French-speaking, Brussels, where he exhibited regularly, as it continues to do so in the galleries of London, Paris, Madrid and Hong Kong.

Ditch also captures – through photography - his above-mentioned trips highlighting, among others, Norway (1998) and Australia and New Zealand (2006 and 2007), the latter being the basis of his recent solo exhibition at the Cervantes Institute in Paris, entitled Antipodes.

His collaboration with the music was reflected in his performances – in 1994 and 2001 - in the Stedelijk Museum, with the musician, Dutch Bart Spaan, who wrote and performed musical compositions inspired by his paintings. In addition,he collaborated with the French poets Andrée Chedid and Gilles Mentré, and the spaniard Francisco Pino.

Within the cast of their awards,we highlight the painting young man who delivered him in Paris at l'académie des Beaux-Arts de l'institut de France (1995) and the premio Ojo Crítico, of the National Radio of Spain,in 2001.
