The gallery Fern\u00e1ndez-Braso celebrates the 90th birthday of Elizabeth Villar (Salamanca, 1934) gathering in an exhibition almost thirty paintings made by the artist between 2022 and 2024. The new work \u2013lush, luminous, delicate\u2212 continues to explore and re-creating their unique and imaginative world: the earthly paradise, girls and women, angels, female, wild animals domesticated, birds, and lots of water. Water in the form of rain, rivers, waterfalls.<\/p>\n\n\n
The sample will be completed with the publication of a catalog that will contain two new texts produced for the occasion on Isabel Villar. The first, Joaqu\u00edn Ara\u00fajo (Madrid, 1947), naturalist, writer, among others, of the book \u201cThe trees will teach you how to see the forest\u201d (Editions Criticism, 2020). Illuminates the work of Isabel Villar through a text that speaks of the Beauty, the feminine, the water, the air and the tree. The second text is a story of Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Until (Huesca, 1989), author of the novel \u201cWe will darken the hair\u201d (Editions Trojan Horse, 2023). He tells how it was the life and work of three women painters, Carmen, Immaculate and Mary, before and after of an orange tree came to be in the middle of his fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current exhibition of Isabel Villar is the third on the artist in the new gallery space Fern\u00e1ndez-Braso, after the made in 2018 (curated by Alberto Anaut, whom we remember and dedicate this exhibition) and 2021. It is also the first from the retrospective exhibition dedicated to him in 2022, the Centre of Contemporary Art (DA2) of Salamanca and the Centro de Arte Tom\u00e1s y Valiente de Fuenlabrada, Madrid, spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition will open on Thursday, April 4, between 19 and 21 hours. It will count with the presence of the artist.<\/p>\n\n\n
