Third solo exhibition of Guillermo P\u00e9rez Villalta, (Tarifa, C\u00e1diz, 73 years) in the gallery Fern\u00e1ndez-Braso of Madrid and second-and last \u2212after the survey carried out in 2018\u2212 dedicated to the \u201cclassicism\u201d, a concept present in western culture from antiquity to the present day, and the object of study, review, and analysis by P\u00e9rez Villalta from the last few years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will be made up of works that the artist has carried out between 2018 and 2020, the first in Madrid after the exhibition \u201cart as maze\u201d, held in 2021 in the Sala Alcal\u00e1 31, Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n

In constant dialogue with movements and styles of different eras and converging with other forms of expression (fine arts, architecture, design, music), the work of P\u00e9rez Villalta continues to be based on the same principles \u2013geometry, space, light, empty\u2013; he delights in the values in painting \u2013the stroke of the brush, the color, \u201cwith mixes and glazes complex of many tones to create a lighting rarefied\u201d and displays more abstract in their meaning or interpretation, decreasing the symbolic evocation of the subjects represented.

Is concrete in this way the relationship between form and content, balanced a few times, stressed other. Perspectives taken to the limit. Vanishing points combined. Geometries fantastic. Reinterpretations. Ideal cities. Visions dream. Environments metaphysical of serene skies under which P\u00e9rez Villalta explores the \u201cresidual spaces\u201d, the interstices of those issues, ideas, concerns, and interests of the author. A few of artistic nature (the pleasures of the culture, the beauty, the classic and the contemporary, abstraction and figuration, the real and the imagined, the truth and verisimilitude). Other personal reason and feeling, individual and collective, male and female, love and sex, solitude and company). And spiritual or philosophical (sacred and profane, religions, rites, myths, beliefs, allegories, and dreams). And, like a shadow that covers everything, the transience, eternity, the melancholy of the passage of time.<\/p>\n\n\n
